Class basics

If you are teaching a class or tutoring students and you want to:

  • assign lessons
  • review saved work, and
  • use peer feedback features such as Wrotevote and Peer Review

—then you need to create a class.

You can manage all your classes via My Lessons

My Lessons displays the lessons for your personal account, plus any classes you moderate (or of which you are a member).

Using buttons on this page you can:

  • Create a new class.
  • Manage an existing class (including members, settings, reporting, and lessons).
  • Join a class using a class code.

You can also filter classes and view any snippet responses you've written.

Writelike class rules are pretty simple:

  • Whoever creates a class becomes a moderator for that class.
  • You can create as many classes as you want, and your classes can have any number of members.

Yes, in a couple of ways:

  • If you want to use Writelike for self-directed learning, you can assign lessons to yourself, which will allow you to save your work.
  • If you want to teach a class or tutor individuals or small groups, but you don't want to create a class, then you can either:
    • use it like a textbook and write responses elsewhere, or
    • ask students to create accounts and give you access so you can see their work.
