Checkpoints

A checkpoint is a summative, pull-it-all-together type of moment in a lesson.

  • Any student writing on a checkpoint will feed into Peer Review and/or Wrotevote, depending on your class/lesson settings.
  • Checkpoints can also include a reflection prompt, depending on your class/lesson settings. Reflections will appear in Peer Review only.

Here's an example of a checkpoint from Science fantasy worldbuilding in Phoenix 4:

Checkpoints are usually placed at the end of lesson.

There are two basic varieties:

  • Write a response that demonstrates several concepts from the lesson.
  • Combine, review, and polish the accumulated work from the lesson.
