Preparing to write like Dracula

Writing in the style of Dracula is a lot more challenging.

One of the biggest issues is that you have to expand the action and description. This means you have to invent new content—with Twilight you could just cut, with Dracula you have to add

Multiple senses

As you look for words and images, also think about sound and physical sensation. Dracula describes sights, sounds and physical feelings (moaned, crashing, colder and colder, we were covered...)

Advancing the story

Another thing to think about when you write this passage is how to keep advancing the story.

Although there's a lot of description of the landscape, it's not static description: each new description advances the story by making the narrator's situation worse—resulting in him being dreadfully afraid.

As you collect descriptive details to use in your remix, also think about how to order them so you can advance the story and get Bella into more and more trouble.
