Unlike with narrative & argument, we don't have a go-to text or author for persuasive writing, perhaps because there are so many books that cover similar material that it's hard to single one out.
In a pinch, we'd recommend Ramage et al.'s Writing Arguments if you want a college-level textbook that covers persuasive context and Sam Leith's You Talkin' To Me?: Rhetoric from Aristotle to Obama for a more general introduction to Aristotle's modes.
