This kind of historical description:
- Locates technologies and arts in time and space
- Describes physical features as well as details about how people used them
- Explains meaning and significance
- Can be used to describe specific artifacts or technologies in general
- Can sometimes use a compositional or step-by-step structure
As you might have noticed, people create art & technology, but art & technology also create people!
