Observing and describing in Storm Boy 5: Describing the weather

It all starts with a simple statement. A summary that is expanded upon for the rest of the passage.

‘The year of the great storms’ has an epic feel to it - something for the history books!

For your passage:

• Choose a weather event - a hailstorm, a cyclone, a heatwave, etc.
• Choose the period in which it takes place - a year, a week, an hour, etc.
• Choose how that period can be broken down - a year into months, a month into weeks, a night into hours, etc. (this is for the structure of the rest of the passage)
