In this lesson, we unpack a passage from That Eye, the Sky in which the narrator knows something bad has happened but is on their way to find out what. We continue to explore how first person point of view, subjective commentary, internal and external description, simile and metaphor can sustain tension. We break the passage into snippets and include a checkpoint piece at the end in which students can either write a new version of the piece, or polish their writing from the lesson.
