The last part of a PEEL paragraph is a link to either the main idea at the start, or to the next paragraph.

This level of economical storytelling, using multiple devices to create complex effects, is used throughout the graphic novel.

Here is the linking sentence from my paragraph about the horse evading the raptors.

I'm going to link to an imaginary second paragraph (about the velociraptors).

Similar care is given to the position and direction of the velociraptors in the scene.

Why do we have these linking sentences?

When we write an analysis or an argument—or even a story—we are leading the reader along a path. Linking sentences help us keep the reader oriented, so they know how each point in the journey connects together.

Without linking sentences, your writing can be choppy and confusing.
