Explanation

Next, we need to explain and interpret the evidence we have provided.

Here’s the first snippet from the lesson.

In two simple, almost identical panels, the reader understands they are following the story of a child who lives in a drab, humdrum world but is hungry for drama and action.

What I’ve done is wrap up my evidence with a summary and explain what it all means.

Here’s a snippet with an explanation for how Ghostopolis shows a horse evading two raptors.

When combined, these panels show the horse’s position in panel progressing systematically from left to right—even though there is a complete reversal of the horse’s direction—and this simple progression helps us follow a potentially confusing action sequence.

Why do we do this?

Because we can’t assume that people interpret our evidence the same way that we do, or that they understand what the evidence means.

Now write your own explanation. How does your evidence prove the point you are making about the raptors chasing the horse?
