It’s interesting how much character information you can convey with a single line.

For instance, in The Falcon’s Malteser, just in case you hadn’t worked out that Tim Diamond (or Herbert, his real name) isn’t too bright, he gets the client’s name wrong.

“And what can I do for you, Mr. Venice?”

Naples… Venice… they’re both places in Italy, right? Easy mistake.

But you can convey other types of information too. For instance, in these examples, one uses a pause and the other uses a physical gesture to communicate extra detail.

“How can we help, Ms… Doe?”

I gestured towards an industrial-size tub of Skinsoft moisturiser. “Care for a seat, Mr D’Angelo?”
