We've finally published our first set of Frankenstories Shakespeare prompts, beginning with Macbeth.

The prompts provide six different ways to engage with the play:

There's a Macbeth prompt for every occasion!

Text prompt: Write Macbeth's press release for the battle of Birnam Wood. Image prompt: A castle being engulfed by forest.

And they are supported by a custom image pool, which you can explore and play with as you wish.

A collage of Macbeth-themed images—kings, warriors, feasts, bloody hands, murderous men in forests, witches

"BUT WE'RE NOT DOING MACBETH OR SHAKESPEARE!"

One purpose of these prompts is to show different ways you can use Frankenstories to explore a text in class.

Even if you're not teaching Macbeth, we hope you'll get ideas for your own custom prompts.

AND LET US KNOW IF YOU HAVE FEEDBACK!

We're trying to calibrate our approach, and we have a few more plays in the works. (Coming next: Romeo & Juliet.)

Let us know what you think about the volume and variety of prompts.

And if you have requests for specific texts, send them through!

THANKS TO SHAKESPEARE RELOADED

We worked on these with the Shakespeare Reloaded team at Sydney Uni, who have a great collection of innovative teaching resources on their website, so be sure to check their project out if you haven't seen it before.
