Introduction

UPDATE 12 JAN 2021

Hey there! We've made some changes to this lesson to make it a little clearer. If you're using this lesson now, it's fine carry on—but you might like to assign yourself the new version from the library instead (or ask your teacher to assign it to you), and delete this one. Up to you!

Writelike team

We all communicate with other people.

We tell each other stories, we explain things to each other, we try to persuade people to see our point of view or change their mind... And that takes skill!

Stick figure sits at a computer desk. Person 1. Are you coming to bed? Person 2. I can't. This is important. Person 1. What? Person 2. Someone is WRONG on the internet.

Learning to write with Writelike is like learning how to play a sport or a musical instrument. We'll give you small activities and exercises to help you learn and practice different writing skills.

And just like when learning a sport or a musical instrument, we know that exercises aren't the same as performing for real.

The real work is the reading and writing you do outside of Writelike—but the skills you'll learn here will help a lot with that!

So with that in mind, click Next and let's take a look at how a Writelike lesson works.
