- In most narratives, characters will want to talk to each other. In this activity, we look at basic dialogue conventions and punctuation. We use a snippet from M. T. Anderson's The Suburb Beyond the Stars as a model. This activity also includes a proofreading drill to practice dialogue punctuation.
